This practical webinar explores how editors can turn those written decisions into repeatable automated checks. Using Styleworks, Tom will demonstrate the thinking behind a custom editorial style: how individual rules are structured, which decisions can be checked reliably and which decisions require editorial judgement.
Participants will see how to create rules for preferred terminology, spelling, capitalization, phrases to avoid and other recurring editorial decisions. Tom will demonstrate how to test and refine rules, organize them into a reusable style and apply the resulting checks during editing.
The webinar will use Styleworks to demonstrate the wider process of turning style decisions into systematic checks. Participants will leave able to identify which parts of their own style sheets could be turned into useful automated checks.
