Marie-Hélène Girard is a trained professional legal translator and legal language specialist. She coordinates and teaches in the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation at McGill University. Prior to joining McGill, she worked at the University of Montreal and at University of Geneva’s Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (Switzerland). She received her Ph.D. from the University of Geneva in 2019. Her current research focuses on the legal language industry in Canada. In addition to her academic credentials, she has worked as an in-house translator and run her own business for the past 15 years, serving a wide range of corporate, institutional and public-sector clients.
