In this webinar, Letitia and Katherine will present several ways editors can work together with an anti-hustle approach for mutual benefit. In the first half of the webinar, Letitia will discuss networking, volunteering and community-building, describing how editors can build their income by building their reputation among colleagues as well as potential clients. She will share worksheets to help editors assess the breadth and diversity of their professional network, and detail how non-billable work enriches her business practice. In the second half of the webinar, Katherine will discuss subcontracting, describing how experienced editors can locate reliable, trustworthy subcontractors; this webinar will include a subcontracting agreement template that editors can adapt when hiring subcontractors. She will also discuss how new editors can locate subcontracting opportunities to increase their income as well as informal ways editors can get work from and pass on work to other trusted editors. Editors who participate in this webinar will leave with practical tools on how to work effectively with other editors.

Katherine Morton, MBA, BA, is an Editors Canada certified copy editor. She has been editing throughout her more than 20-year career and has been freelance editing for the past few years.
